Meet the Founder
Daniel Jezreel, PT
Founder, BALNZ Foundation. A physical therapist turning decades of rehabilitation experience into proactive, practical healthy aging.
Background
From Rehabilitation to Prevention
Daniel Jezreel is a physical therapist with more than 25 years of experience working across rehabilitation and healthcare, with a particular interest in mobility, balance, functional independence, and healthy aging.
Over the course of his career, Daniel has seen a recurring problem: many older adults begin thinking seriously about strength, balance, and fall prevention only after a fall, injury, hospitalization, or significant loss of mobility.
BALNZ Foundation grew from a simple belief:
Healthy aging should be proactive, not reactive.
The Foundation was created to help people remain Strong, Steady, and Safe as they age through education, community programs, evidence-informed approaches, and collaboration with healthcare professionals, researchers, universities, and community organizations.

Why BALNZ?
Aging Does Not Have to Mean Giving Up Independence
Maintaining strength, mobility, balance, and independence often requires deliberate action. BALNZ Foundation focuses on helping adults better understand and address the important components of healthy aging.
- Strength and physical capacity
- Balance and mobility
- Fall-risk awareness and prevention
- Safe physical activity
- Functional independence
- Healthy-aging education
The goal is not simply to help people live longer. The goal is to help people remain capable, confident, and independent for as long as possible.
Clinical Experience
From Clinical Experience to Prevention
Working in rehabilitation provides a unique view of what happens after function has already been lost.
Patients may enter rehabilitation following falls, fractures, hospitalization, neurological conditions, illness, or progressive decline.
That experience helped shape the philosophy behind BALNZ:
- What if we could intervene earlier?
- What if people learned about strength, balance, mobility, and fall risk years before a major event forced them to?
BALNZ Foundation was established to help move healthy aging further toward prevention, education, early identification, and lifelong physical capability.
Evidence-Informed
Building an Evidence-Informed Organization
BALNZ Foundation aims to combine practical healthcare experience with scientific evidence.
As the Foundation develops its programs, it intends to collaborate with healthcare professionals, academic institutions, researchers, and community organizations to evaluate and improve its approaches.
BALNZ will distinguish between interventions supported by established research and programs that are still undergoing development or evaluation.
The long-term objective is to help build practical healthy-aging programs that are not only accessible, but also measurable, reproducible, and supported by evidence.
A Broader Vision
Healthy aging is a global challenge.
BALNZ Foundation’s long-term vision is to make practical healthy-aging education and fall-prevention resources accessible to communities both in the United States and internationally.
The Foundation seeks to build partnerships that expand access to education, community programming, research, and resources—particularly where preventive healthy-aging services may be limited.
A Message From the Founder
“After decades in rehabilitation, I have seen how quickly a fall, hospitalization, or loss of strength can change someone’s independence. BALNZ Foundation was created around a different question: What can we do before that happens? Our mission is to give people practical knowledge and tools to protect their strength, balance, mobility, and independence as they age. We want people to age Strong, Steady, and Safe.”
